Founded in March 2022, Making Lives Matter emerged from a deep-seated desire to address the unnoticed struggles within the Noosa community. Recognising the gaps in support and the hardships many face, our charity was born out of a commitment to ensure that no one has to navigate life’s challenges alone.
Our Mission
Our mission at Making Lives Matter is simple but profound: to provide immediate and effective support to individuals and families in crisis, ensuring they have the resources and help they need when they need it most. We transform everyday transactions into life-changing support by leveraging the proceeds from our premium op shop and generous community donations.
In just two short years, we have touched the lives of over 1,700 people and distributed almost $300,000 in direct aid. From emergency housing and financial assistance to counselling and support groups, our services are designed to offer a lifeline in times of need.
Our Approach
We operate with an open-door policy, ensuring that anyone in need can reach out and find help. Our dedicated team of case managers works closely with each individual to assess their needs and provide tailored support. This hands-on approach allows us to be flexible, responsive, and effective in our assistance.
Our Community
At the heart of Making Lives Matter is our community—volunteers, donors, and the people we serve. Together, we create a nurturing and supportive environment that values each person’s dignity and potential. Our op shop serves as a funding source and a community hub where people can connect, share, and support each other in meaningful ways.
We aim to expand our services and reach more needy people. Through continued community engagement and partnerships, we strive to enhance our programs and extend our impact further into the Noosa area and beyond.
